8:58 a.m.:There's no wait at all right now at the Sandra Freedman Tennis Complex on Davis Islands.
Manuel and Vilma Calzon vote quickly and walk out.
"It seemed like it was faster this time than it was previously," said Vilma Calzon, 74. "I think it's because so many people voted early."
She and Manuel Calzon, 77, voted for Barack Obama.
"We're yellow dog Democrats," she says.
"We need a change very badly," he says. "We thought he was the most qualified. ... I hope he'll end the war, which is such a waste of young lives and money."
Minutes before they leave the complex, Lonnie Homenuk, 52, walks out having also voted for Obama.
Homenuk got his U.S. citizenship in 2003, having moved to the area from Edmonton, Alberta. While he is a registered independant, he voted for a Democrat last election as well.
"Obama is the best qualified to lead us for the next four years," he said. "There needs to be a change taking place."
