A bus driver for the Pasco County School District filled several prescriptions for Oxycodone and a muscle relaxer by not telling doctors she had received prior prescriptions for the drugs, Temple Terrace police say.
Police arrested Vanessa Kunkle, 31, of Dade City at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
From June 10 to Aug. 7, she got the muscle relaxer and 1,040 Oxycodone pills, a criminal arrest affidavit states.
She was arrested Tuesday while trying to go to one of the doctors' offices.
Officers searched her vehicle and found an Oxycodone prescription from another doctor.
Kunkle also had $1,052 in her possession as well as a prescription that belonged to another person, police say.
She was charged with trafficking in Oxycodone, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and 20 counts of obtaining drugs by withholding information.
She remained in Falkenburg Road Jail today. Her bail has been set at $100,000.
Kunkle has been a bus driver for Pasco schools since March 2007, according to the district.
