Troopers: Sarasota Woman Dies After Car Hits Tree

A Sarasota woman died late Tuesday night when she missed a turn and struck a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Danielle M. Gallock, 23, of 4761 Marshfield Road, was driving her 2005 two-door Mini Cooper south on Longmeadow Drive at 11:12 p.m. when she drove off the road and hit a tree, Trooper G.B. Yock reported. The car overturned and spun into a pond, partially ejecting Gallock.
Gallock was the only person in the car, troopers said. She died at the scene.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol crash report.
Investigators have not said why Gallock lost control of the car.
