LAND O' LAKES - It was a good day Tuesday for the incumbents in Pasco County.
The sheriff, schools superintendent, supervisor of elections and three county commissioners all were returned to office as voters decided to stick with the status quo.
Sheriff Bob White, a Republican seeking a third term, edged out Democratic opponent Kim Bogart in an extremely tight race. A nonpartisan candidate, Bobby Kinzy, finished a distant third.
Schools Superintendent Heather Fiorentino, a Republican, won a second four-year term by defeating Democratic challenger Stephen Donaldson, a Gulf High School teacher and retired Air Force major.
Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley defeated Pat Carroll to win his first full term in the office. Corley was appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist to finish Kurt Browning's term when Crist tapped Browning to be secretary of state.
Republican Ann Hildebrand won her seventh term in the District 3 seat of the Pasco County Commission, defeating Democrat Terri Conroy.
In another county commission race, incumbent Jack Mariano, a Republican, won his second term as the District 5 commissioner by defeating Democrat Ginny Miller.
In a race with no incumbent, Paula O'Neil defeated Robert Altman to become Pasco's clerk of circuit court.
In a circuit judge race, Susan Gardner easily defeated Robert Angus Williams for the right to replace Judge Wayne Cobb.
