PITTSBURGH - Ben Roethlisberger underwent an MRI exam Tuesday on his injured right shoulder, and the Steelers won't know if he can play Sunday against the Colts until they get the results.
Roethlisberger, whose throwing shoulder was slightly separated in the first game of the season, was injured on a quarterback sneak near the end of the second quarter of Pittsburgh's 23-6 victory in Washington on Monday night.
Roethlisberger did not play the rest of the game. Byron Leftwich, in first extensive action for the Steelers, replaced Roethlisberger and threw a touchdown pass while leading two touchdown drives in the second half.
BILLS: Top pass rusher Aaron Schobel will miss at least another two weeks and could be out for the rest of the season with a left foot injury.
BROWNS: Coach Romeo Crennel made the switch to quarterback Brady Quinn to help the team, not to placate frustrated Cleveland fans.
Crennel said Derek Anderson wasn't benched because of the backlash. The coach made the move Monday, one day after Anderson threw a costly interception in Cleveland's 37-27 loss to Baltimore.
Crennel cited Cleveland's poor offensive production, the club's 3-5 record and Anderson's inconsistency as his reasons for starting Quinn on Thursday night against Denver.
LIONS: Daunte Culpepper passed his physical and signed a two-year deal with Detroit - and he could be ready to play Sunday against Jacksonville.
RAMS: Placed wide receiver Drew Bennett and wide receiver/kick returner Dante Hall on injured reserve.
Bennett broke his leg in the first quarter of the season opener and struggled in rehab efforts.
Hall sustained a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Cardinals.
