St. Petersburg police have arrested today another man they say was involved in the theft of bronze vases from Woodlawn Cemetery.
Michael Vincent Higgins, 22, of 11160 Third St. E., Treasure Island, has been charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
Higgins and Jose Caraballo are accused of stealing 93 bronze vases from the cemetery at 101 58th St. S. Higgins was arrested at 3:11 p.m. after workers at a Pinellas County recycling center told police that two men tried to sell the vases for cash, authorities said.
Caraballo was arrested Nov. 4.
A maintenance worker discovered more than $5,000 worth of vases missing from the cemetery Oct. 29. The vases were placed on the graves to hold flowers left by family members.
Higgins is being booked in to Pinellas County Jail this afternoon. Caraballo is being held on $13,000 bail at the jail.
