Animal control officers have seized five horses and a goat from a Sarasota County woman who has been cited numerous times for failing to take care of her pets.
Annette Knight, 44, was charged with six counts of neglect after the animals were found without clean food or water and overrun by parasites at piece of property on Dog Kennel Road.
The woman has a poor track record of taking care of her pets. She was cited six times in Sarasota County for animal neglect since 2005. This year, animal welfare officials found nearly 30 malnourished dogs and cats in a Myakka City home.
A judge originally gave the pets back to Knight. But they were again taken away in September, after Knight took in more dogs and failed to care for them.
She could not immediately be reached.
