After a two-day delay after the polls closed, all the votes in the Temple Terrace City Council race have been been tallied.
From a slate of four candidates for the two open seats on the council – incumbent Ron Govin, Ted Grevencamp, Mary Jane Neale and Dave Penoyer – Govin and Neale were the biggest vote getters.
Govin, with 5,585 votes, will serve a second four-year term, while Neale, who received 3,763 votes, is slated to serve her first council term.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to do it again and to help make the city a great place to live, work and play," Govin said. "I want to thank my campaign committee for all their hard work, especially wife Judy, my leading campaign volunteer."
Neale, who said she'd put her heart and soul into the campaign, is relieved the long wait is behind her.
"I'm really pleased and I thank each person who supported me," she said. "My next step is to move forward with our redevelopment."
