TAMPA - Southwest Airlines will add another daily nonstop flight to six destinations it serves from Tampa International Airport effective March 8: Baltimore; Columbus, Ohio; Hartford, Conn.; Nashville, Tenn.; Philadelphia; and Providence, R.I.
The airline in March will discontinue its nonstop Tampa-Albuquerque, N.M, flight as part of its strategy to increasingly utilize Denver as a hub city for West Coast flights to destinations such as Portland, Ore.
Southwest is Tampa International's busiest carrier with 2.7 million departing passengers in fiscal 2008, which ended Sept. 30. That is 28.8 percent of the airport's market share.
