Bradenton Woman Drove Over Ex-Beau's Foot, Police Say

PALMETTO – Authorities say a Bradenton woman drove a car over her ex-boyfriend's foot, causing him to fall and break his arm on Thursday night.

Christy D. Burchett, 33, of the 1200 block of 22nd Street West, was arrested Friday on a charge of aggravated battery.

Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Palmetto police say Burchett drove through a parking lot in the 1300 block of 8th Avenue West toward her ex-boyfriend, who was walking.

She drove the vehicle over his left foot, which caused him to fall and land on his left arm, the report said.

The man was treated at the hospital for a broken left arm and fractured foot.

Burchett said she did not intentionally hit the man. Burchett's mother, who was in the vehicle, said the man took a step backward before being hit and that her daughter did not intentionally hit him, according to a report.
