When Congress created the National Do Not Call Registry, they exempted political organizations. Well, I would like to paraphrase two well-known lines from the award-winning novel/movie "Gone With The Wind":

"As God is my witness," I will never vote for another political candidate for any office who calls me with an unsolicited political recording telling me to vote for him or her. And to those who say I should still support the party and candidate of my choice, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

Leading up to an election, I read the newspaper, listen to the news on radio and television and do research on the Internet. I do not need or want telephone calls all day long telling me who to vote for or not vote for. They should have the decency to respect the wishes of the people even if they are not required to do so by law.
