THE DIFFERENCE: The Chiefs struggled with their running game early because of the Lions' impenetrable line, but Chamberlain eventually chipped away at that defense and set up a stable running game led by Dontae Aycock and Kenny Allen.
GAME NOTES: The entire first quarter was used on Chamberlain's first drive, which consisted of 21 plays. It finally came to a close with a 17-yard Allen run for a score. ... King was plagued by penalties, putting a damper on their offensive game. ... With Chamberlain up 20-0 in the second, Aycock gave his team an extra boost of momentum with an 82-yard run. ... On the ensuing drive, a King interception by Chris Frierson was returned 50 yards for a score. ... King had a chance to put points of the board when Cedric Young returned a kickoff 87 yards to put his offense on the 5-yard line. Frierson prevented them from scoring when he intercepted another pass and returned it 99 yards for an apparent TD. However, the score was called back because of a penalty for blocking in the back.
STAT OF THE GAME: Aycock finished with 132 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He had 69 passing yards, including a 20-yard touchdown.
