TAMPA CATHOLIC ... 56 BISHOP VEROT ... 0
THE DIFFERENCE: Tampa Catholic (7-2) dominated Bishop Verot (6-3) on both sides of the ball, but especially on the offensive line. The Crusaders ran downhill and had tons of time to throw, allowing them to pick apart the Vikings. After playing the first two games of the season with a new offensive line and seven or eight injured players, the Crusaders have been on a roll, winning seven in a row.
GAME NOTES: Tampa Catholic running back Henry McCloud had another big game. The junior was breaking off 6- and 7-yard runs at will. He ran for 153 yards without seeing much action in the fourth quarter. McCloud even flashed his arm when he hit a wide-open Conner Louis for a score in the third quarter. ... TC quarterback Christian Green looked relaxed running the spread. He threw when he needed to and ran at ease. ... The TC defense scored when senior Andrew Horvat tackled Bishop Verot quarterback Clay King for a safety in the fourth quarter.
STAT OF THE GAME: McCloud accounted for 28 points with three scores running and one passing.
QUOTE OF THE GAME: "We watched Bishop Verot do some good things on film and were a little worried about coming out flat this week. But we practiced well all week and maintained our momentum." - TC coach Bob Henriquez
