County Is Waste-Deep In Reduction/Recycling Assistance

TAMPA - In an effort to reduce the amount of waste generated by local businesses, Hillsborough County is offering free technical assistance in recycling and waste reduction.

Some of the services offered include waste audits to help businesses see how much of their waste could be reduced or recycled, help designing reduction and recycling programs, providing educational material, and assistance in putting programs into action.

The county solid waste department has been working the past two years to increase the number of businesses that have commercial recycling programs. Generating and disposing of waste is costly to private business and county taxpayers.
