TAMPA - Three men cut a porch screen open, entered the porch area, pointed a rifle at the home's resident and told him to lie on the ground this morning, Hillsborough County deputies say.
The victim escaped from the incident at 14413 Audubon Terrace in Tampa.
About 12:34 a.m., deputies arrested Matthew Giardina, 30, of Land O'Lakes; Michael Sharrow, 24, of Lutz; and Matthew Sharrow, 19, of Lutz.
During the investigation after the men were arrested, deputies found a crowbar, gloves, a yellow rope and masks, along with a rifle, a gun and ammunition, deputies say.
Giardina was charged with possession of burglary tools, armed burglary with assault or battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and use of a bulletproof vest during the commission of a felony.
Michael Sharrow was charged with armed burglary with assault or battery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of burglary tools.
Matthew Sharrow was charged with armed burglary with assault or battery and possession of burglary tools.
The trio remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
