Bicyclist Dies In Crash With Van

Hudson - A 32-year-old man died tonight after his bicycle was hit by a van in Hudson, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Rocky L. Payton, of Hudson, died at the scene of the crash, which happened about 6:20 p.m. on Bolton Avenue near Omaha Street, troopers say.
Payton was riding a Huffy bicycle in front of a van driven by Paul F. Beaupre Jr., 22, of Hudson. Payton and Beaupre were both going east on Bolton Avenue. Troopers say Beaupre failed to notice Payton and collided with him.
Payton was thrown onto the hood and windshield of Beaupre's 1992 Plymouth van before falling onto the roadway, troopers say.
Beaupre was not hurt. The crash is under investigation.
