Hillsborough County deputies seized more than 160 grams of cocaine following three meetings with a Tampa man.
Deputies arrested three people Monday afternoon they say were involved in cocaine dealing: Francisco Javier Rodriguez-Arana, 28, of Tampa; Irving Betancourt, 21, of Tampa; and Enid Jimenez, 30, of Brandon.
According to criminal arrest affidavits:
On Oct. 23, Rodriguez-Arana delivered about 7.8 grams of cocaine to an investigator in exchange for $300.
On Oct. 30, Rodriguez-Arana delivered 54.6 grams of cocaine to an investigator in exchange for $1,840. Betancourt had met with Rodriguez-Arana and handed him the cocaine to deliver to the investigator.
On Monday, Rodriguez-Arana delivered about 101 grams of cocaine to an investigator in a Home Depot parking lot in Brandon. Rodriguez-Arana sold it in exchange for $3,150. Jimenez had gotten the cocaine from Betancourt and given the cocaine to Rodriguez-Arana.
After the arrest, investigators found less than 20 grams of marijuana in Betancourt's vehicle, along with a plastic bag with about 6.4 grams of cocaine. Investigators also found a small baggie of marijuana in Jimenez's purse.
Rodriguez-Arana was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and one count each of possession of cocaine and delivery of cocaine.
Betancourt was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and one count each of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jimenez was charged with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
The trio remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
