Center Offers Help For Holiday

HOLIDAY - Joining Hands/Pasco Holiday Center is signing up families in need of a helping hand for the holidays.

The holiday program, a partnership of Metropolitan Ministries and area churches and businesses, will give holiday food and gift assistance to 600 families.

Families wanting to participate must register at United Methodist Church, 3214 U.S. 19, Holiday. Those who are registered will return to the church in December to choose food and gifts.

Director Nancy Dougherty said that last year, the program's first year, there was a waiting list, so she advised those interested to register immediately.

One of the following criteria must be met to register:

•Families with children younger than 18

•Current Social Security Insurance or Social Security Disability recipient

•Age 65 or older

•Grandparents with custodial guardianship
Registration times are 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
