TAMPA - University of South Florida DE George Selvie said Tuesday he won't decide if he'll return for his senior year until after this season.
Selvie, who is projected as a first-round NFL draft pick, will graduate in May.
He had big plans for this season - individually and as a team. And while an ankle injury this season affected Selvie's numbers, USF's recent poor play - three losses in its past four games - has derailed what could have been a special season for the team.
"Everybody had high expectations for us. We had a great team and mostly everybody coming back," said Selvie, who leads the Bulls in tackles for loss (11) and sacks (5.0). "I thought we shouldn't go anything but undefeated. ... It's very disappointing, but we've got to make the best out of it."
Selvie is among 33 players named to the midseason Ted Hendricks Award watch list. Last season, he was a finalist for the award, given to the nation's top defensive end.
ODDS AND ENDS: RG Zach Hermann participated with the first team in position drills during the first 30 minutes of Tuesday's practice. ... RB Mike Ford (ankle) said he would play Saturday against Rutgers.
