TAMPA - The Tampa Tribune's vice president of advertising and sales will be leaving to become the publisher of Florida Trend, a magazine owned by Tribune competitor the St. Petersburg Times.
Bruce Faulmann gave two weeks' notice Monday, said Michael Pumo, general manager of WFLA, who oversees sales for the Tribune and News Channel 8, which are owned by Media General.
Pumo said he's not concerned Faulmann will give inside information to the Times. "In his new endeavor, he's going to be focusing on a different aspect of the business," Pumo said.
Faulmann, 46, of Tampa, has been at the Tribune for 81/2 years, serving first as advertising director and then in his current position since 2003.
He said he will start his new job Nov. 24. "It's been a great privilege to spend the last 81/2 years with the Florida Communications Group and The Tampa Tribune," he said. "It's a really great group of people here. I certainly wish everyone well and continued success. I'm really excited about the new opportunity."
