ENERGY-SAVING TIPS
•A home energy audit can identify leaks around windows, a lack of insulation or a need to replace an old air-conditioning system. Many utilities, including Tampa Electric, offer such audits to customers at no cost.
•To avoid sharp spikes in your electric bill, customers can sign up for a payment plan that allows them to pay a fixed price each month. The price is based on the customer's average consumption during the past 12 months.
•Replace your traditional incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs or light emitting diodes. Fluorescent bulbs use 75 percent less energy and LEDs use up to 90 percent less energy.
