TAMPA - After being arrested Wednesday on drug charges, Christopher Allen jumped out a police cruiser's window trying to escape, Tampa police say. He was caught after a two-block chase.
About 1 a.m. Wednesday, Allen entered his father's home without permission and took cash and prescription drugs, according to an arrest affidavit.
Allen, 21, entered though an unlocked door and took 83 Hydrocodone tablets, 50 Oxycodone tablets, 83 Lorazepam tablets and 22 Alprazolam tablets, along with $30, an arrest report states. His father and stepmother were sleeping at the time, according to the affidavit.
Allen, of 3411 W. Pearl Ave. in Tampa, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
The drugs found were returned to Allen's father, except for two of each pill, which were taken into evidence, according to the affidavit. There also was Xanax in Allen's possession, which had been bought on the street, police say.
Allen was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of burglary, grand theft and escape while transporting.
He remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
