North Port Man Accused Of Beating Children, Killing Cat

NORTH PORT — A man beat two children, put a gun to a girl's head and killed her cat, authorities say.

Teddy J. Budzynski, 39, was arrested Thursday afternoon by North Port police and charged with child and animal abuse.

Investigators say the children told police about the abuse this week. They said that Budzynski once held a .357 Magnum to a 9-year-old girl's head and said: "Say hello to my little friend."

Police reports show that Budzynski, a Sarasota auto mechanic, made one of the children load the weapon and held it to her head more than 100 times at a home on Carpenter Lane.

According to reports, Budzynski also severely hit the children and attacked their animals. He shot a cat to death and beat another with the butt of a shotgun, reports say.
