THE DIFFERENCE: Because of a broken jaw, Hudson QB Zack Wynn was unable to play. Crystal River RB Trevaughn Brooks rushed for 258 yards and two TDs in just three quarters.
GAME NOTES: Hudson (3-7) had Wynn suit up, but when the whistle blew, Coach Mark Nash started OL Justin Pennington at QB. The Crystal River (6-4) defense forced two fumbles and shut down the Cobras offense. ... The visiting Pirates had two TDs in the first three minutes of the game. After one quarter, the Pirates led 28-0 and were up 38-0 at halftime. ... In the third quarter, the Cobras mounted a 16-play TD drive, with RB Dylan Luke gaining 47 yards on the ground. ... In the fourth quarter, the Cobras had another successful drive, with Pennington completing six passes, including a 3-yard toss to Hunter Newton for the score. ... Pennington finished the game 9-of-13 for 126 yards, with all but 5 yards coming in the second half.
STAT OF THE GAME: Brooks averaged 16 yards per carry, including runs of 45, 39, 36 and 32 yards.
