THE DIFFERENCE: Tampa Bay Tech (9-1) got off to a slow start but finished strong on its way to a shutout victory against King (3-7). The Titans will visit Auburndale next week in the first round of the playoffs.
GAME NOTES: Tech's first score of the game was set up by Mark Grant's interception of a Lions screen pass. Grant returned the pick 55 yards and set up quarterback Angel Rodriguez's 1-yard run. ... Rodriguez scored the Titans' second touchdown on a 25-yard run with 52 seconds left in the first half. ... A 22-yard run by Jameel Jackson set up a 6-yard touchdown by Tech's Antonio Wallace. ... Maurice Hagens' 45-yard run through the Lions defense set up his 7-yard touchdown. ... Wallace scored TBT's final touchdown on a 26-yard pass from Jonathan Williams. ... The Titans defense held King to 13 yards rushing and 40 yards passing.
STAT OF THE GAME: Tech's Hagens gained 128 yards on 14 carries, giving the junior fullback 1,022 rushing yards for the season.
