A Zephyrhills man was killed early Saturday in a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 301 and Daughtery Road in Pasco County.
Christopher Boyette, 23, was driving west in a four-door Chevrolet on Daughtery Road and failed to stop at a red light as he approached U.S. 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The Chevrolet was struck on the driver's side by a northbound Oldsmobile driven by James Wigfall, 18, of Dade City.
The Chevrolet overturned and came to a rest on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of U.S. 301.
Boyette died at the scene. His passenger, 22-year-old Joseph Brown, and Wigfall were transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, the highway patrol said.
