The president and general manager of the Bay area's CBS affiliate, Sam Rosenwasser, has accepted an early retirement package from the station and will leave the company toward the end of the year, he said.
Rosenwasser, 56, has worked 36 years in television in markets such as Dallas and Austin, Texas, and Sacramento, Calif. He came to WTSP, Channel 10, in August 2001.
"I'm very proud of what we've accomplished," Rosenwasser said Monday of Channel 10, which broadcasts from St. Petersburg. "This is a good group of people who do very good work."
The station has not named a new general manager, but Rosenwasser said he would work with the person "to ensure a smooth transition."
