TAMPA - Young "Hannah Montana" star Cody Linley got the boot from "Dancing With the Stars" on ABC Tuesday, keeping former Tampa Bay Buccaneers standout Warren Sapp in the game.

Linley, a recent high school graduate who had never danced before joining the show, was paired with professional dancer Julianne Hough. His departure was not a surprise because he struggled on the Monday competition show.

Also on Monday, celebrity Brooke Burke had some missteps and got her lowest score of the season. The judges also knocked the performances by retired NFL player Sapp. Former 'N Sync singer Lance Bass got all the praise.

After doing the Mambo, Sapp and this partner Kym Johnson received mixed results from the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba said that he knows "how to bring the house down" but he needed to "up the game." Judge Len Goodman said Sapp doesn't "mess around with technique." Bruno Tonioli noted that his "super-sized sense of fun" makes people overlook his "flat footwork."

On their jitterbug, Tonioli thought that the footwork was still off. Inaba loved Sapp's jitterbug but she seems to love everything he does.

Tuesday's results show included comments from the competitors family members. Sapp's mother, Annie, said that in following Warren's dancing she felt like she was going through the competition herself.

"Warren has changed since he has been on the show," she said. "He has taken it more seriously than I thought he would. I give all my love and support for him to win."

Before the results of viewer voting were announced tonight, the competitors did some trash-talking. Burke challenged Sapp with "You may be a Super Bowl champ but you aren't going to be a dancing champ."

"Everybody better get out of the way that's my title," said the master of trash talk.
