No one was seriously hurt tonight after a fire caused $50,000 in damage to a house at 1500 Seventh St. S., St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue officials said.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 7:46 p.m. and saw heavy smoke and fire coming from a single story wood-frame house, fire and rescue spokesman Lt. Joel Granata said in a statement.
The fire was under control in 15 minutes, he said.
One resident of the home suffered an asthma attack during the incident and was treated by paramedics, emergency dispatchers said.
There was no smoke alarm in the house and investigators are determining the cause of the blaze, Granata said.
Three people who lived in the house are being helped tonight by the Tampa Bay chapter of the American Red Cross.
