The boy was taken to All Children's Hospital on Wednesday night, according to an arrest affidavit. The hospital contacted the Department of Children & Families. Police also were contacted
Adams told investigators the boy was hurt while he and the youngster were wrestling, Sgt. Katy Connor-Dubina said.
The boy is recuperating today at All Children's Hospital, and his injuries are not considered life-threatening, Connor-Dubina said.
Adams' arrest affidavit states that the boy's tonsils were torn and his palate and larynx were damaged.
The boy lives at the same residence as Adams, Connor-Dubina said. The boy's mother also lives at the home, as does his grandmother, who is Adams' wife, Connor-Dubina said.
