TAMPA - A Lakeland teenager who declined to stop for a Tampa police officer early this morning said she didn't have to stop because, "I didn't do anything wrong."
Police said they spotted Holly Nicole Antantis, 18, of 5085 Ashberry Park Drive, eastbound on Adamo Drive traveling about 75 mph. The speed limit, police said, is 50.
Officers said they followed the vehicle to 50th Street, where Antantis got into the left-turn lane. The car turned north on 50th Street — through a red light — and that's when the officer switched on his lights and siren, police said. The fleeing car then turned east on Acline Drive, which is the entrance to a UPS plant, police said.
Her car came to a halt when the road reached a dead end at the secured UPS gate, police said.
Antantis was charged with fleeing to elude, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She remained in the Orient Road Jail this morning. Bail was set at $3,000
