Tampa - Two fake nuggets of crack cocaine netted a Tampa man a real drug charge, police said.
Jadde Barker, 36, is charged with sale of a counterfeit controlled substance, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The charge applies to prescription medication as well as drugs such as marijuana and cocaine.
Police arrested Barker about 10:50 p.m. Friday in the 2100 block of West Arch Street.
According to an affidavit, Barker sold the fake crack rocks to a confidential informant for $30 and ran when police tried to arrest him. A field-testing kit determined the drugs were fake.
Barker was being held without bail at Orient Road Jail today because the arrest violates his probation in another case, records state.
