Tampa - Three homeless men somehow obtained a kilogram of cocaine that they tried to sell to an undercover investigator on Friday, deputies said.
Manuel Galvez, 20, Carlos Castello, 24, and Alejandro Montes, 38, all were held without bail at the Orient Road Jail today. Each is charged with felony cocaine trafficking and felony conspiracy to traffic in cocaine.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested the men about 5 p.m. Friday after they arrived in the parking lot of a Home Depot on Adamo Drive in Brandon for a drug transaction, arrest affidavits state.
According to the affidavits, the three had struck up a deal to deliver the cocaine for an unspecified amount of money to an undercover law-enforcement agent. The drugs were recovered from the men's vehicle, the affidavits state.
The documents do not say how the men obtained the drugs.
