TAMPA - Chamberlain ended Gaither's season in the playoffs for the second year in a row, once again in dominating fashion.
For the third time in the last two seasons, Chamberlain blew away an overmatched Gaither squad, this time by a 54-6 margin.
All of Chamberlain's stars lived up to billing, but senior quarterback Dontae Aycock shined the brightest. Scouts from the University of South Carolina watched Aycock burn and bruise the Cowboy defense throughout the night.
Aycock rushed for 179 yards and 4 TDs in the first half alone. He tiptoed down the sideline and left four Gaither defenders grabbing at air for an 86-yard touchdown. Aycock left in the third quarter with 196 rushing and 100 passing yards.
Chamberlain coach Billy Turner thought Aycock stole the show.
"He's sensational. He's played like that all season long ... he's worth the price of admission."
Chamberlain's Anthony Williams showed off his vertical jump, leaping over a Gaither defender at the goal line to haul in Aycock's 25-yard pass for a score. The combination hooked up again in the third quarter for a 44-yard score.
"He played phenomenal," Aycock said of the senior receiver. "I threw the ball up and he would go get it."
Aycock's backfield partner Kenny Allen added 91 yards on the ground.
