Brandon senior wrestling standout Kevin Timothy has signed a letter of intent to attend The Citadel.
Timothy has been one of Hillsborough County's top wrestlers each of the past three seasons, earning Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team honors each year.
Timothy has a combined record of 137-12 at Brandon after notching a victory in the Eagles' season opener Thursday night against Riverview. His best season came last year when he finished 56-2 and won the Class 2A 135-pound state title, the first of his career.
As a sophomore, he was 38-4 and finished as the Class 2A state runner-up at 130 pounds. As a freshman, he went 42-6 and finished fifth at 119 pounds in the Class 2A state tournament.
Timothy's older brother Tommy was a two-time state champ at Brandon and the Tribune's Wrestler of the Year in 2007. He is a sophomore wrestler at the University of Pennsylvania.
