TAMPA - A local dance group plans to donate proceeds of a performance next month to the teen attacked at Bloomingdale Regional Library.
Money from the show, a contemporary version of Christmas classic "The Nutcracker," will help pay for the 18-year-old's medical expenses said Troy Jansen, director of the Collective Soles Arts Group.
Collective Soles is a nonprofit group that promotes dance to the Tampa community.
The show, called "Goin' Nuts," will be held Dec. 12-13 at the University of South Florida. Tickets are $10-$20 and are available at the USF Box Office on the day of the show. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster's Web site.
For information, call the USF Box Office at (813) 974-2323 or contact Collective Soles at www.collectivesoles.org or at (813) 979-2222.
The 18-year-old victim was beaten and raped April 24 outside the Bloomingdale library. She was treated at a Sarasota rehabilitation center and returned to her Brandon home earlier this month.
Authorities have charged Bloomingdale High School student Kendrick Morris with the attack. Morris is being held without bail at Orient Road Jail.
