TAMPA - A 31-year-old woman found slain last week will be buried in northwest Florida, with visitation in Tampa, a funeral home said today.
Visitation for Jennifer Denise Johnson will be from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Ave., according to Morning Glory Funeral Chapel.
Johnson's funeral is scheduled for Saturday in Jefferson County, funeral home officials said.
Johnson's body was found Nov. 18 in an abandoned house in Lakeland, three days after her family reported her missing, police said. Investigators have not said how she died.
Johnson's survivors include her 2-year-old daughter, Je'Neiyce, whose birthday party was to be held the day she disappeared.
Authorities are still piecing together Johnson's final moments. She was seen arguing with ex-boyfriend Vincent George Brown Jr., 38, at 11 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Apollo Club, then went with Brown to his parents' house in Tampa about 3 a.m. Nov. 15, police said.
She made a 911 call from the trunk of a car on Nov. 15 that was recorded by Plant City police.
Tampa police have asked that anyone who saw Brown driving Johnson's black 1996 Infiniti I-30 in the Orlando or Altamonte Springs areas early Nov. 15 call detectives at (813) 231-6130.
Brown is being held without bail at Orient Road Jail. He was sentenced Monday to 13 months in a state prison for violating probation on a cocaine possession charge.
