With a freeze warning issued for Pasco County, officials will open four cold-weather shelters for the homeless and those without adequate heat.
The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures for tonight in the high 20s in central and eastern Pasco and in the 30s nearer the coast.
Temperatures could be below freezing for two hours or longer. Forecasters also say temperatures could fall even lower.
The shelters are:
• Holy Ground Homeless Shelter, 8835 Denton Ave., Hudson. Hot meals will be provided, and transportation is available. For information, call (727) 863-9123
• First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey, 5901 Indiana Ave. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
• Hope Lutheran Church,12321 Canton Ave., Hudson. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. For information, call (727) 243-1367
• Community Chapel, 5320 First St., Zephyrhills. Doors open at 6 p.m.
