ZEPHYRHILLS - City Councilman Manny Funes' first order of business: giving away money.
Funes was sworn in to his seat on Nov. 14 after winning a three-way race to fill the unexpired term of Daniel Burgess.
He raised nearly $3,000 for the special election but spent only two-thirds of the funds.
At his first council meeting, Funes donated $216.60 to East Pasco Meals on Wheels. He gave $250 to the Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce Samaritan program and gave $500 to Rotary Club for its pageant.
Funes will have to run for office again in the spring.
