Average price of gasoline nationally: $1.89, compared with $3.10 a year ago

Median sales price of a house in the Tampa Bay area: $152,300, compared with $209,000 a year ago

Average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rate: about 5.5%, compared with 6.21% a year ago

Average used-vehicle price at auction: $9,430, compared with $9,775 a year ago

Average used SUV price at auction: $10,500, compared with $12,915 a year ago

Average price of a 32-inch LCD TV: $858, compared with $958 a year ago

Average price of a Blu-ray player: $315, compared with $370 a year ago
