TALLAHASSEE Receivers Bert Reed and Cameron Wade will be available for Florida State's game against Florida after being charged with simple battery Wednesday for their apparent part in an on-campus fight two weeks ago.
Both were suspended for the Boston College game along with three other receivers. The battery charge is a misdemeanor.
Reed and Wade, up to his point, have been the only players arrested in the brawl, which also involved an FSU fraternity at the student-union.
"They are going to be available," FSU coach Bobby Bowden said. "They've been disciplined."
Wade has not played much this season, but Reed is fourth on the team with 16 receptions for 253 yards and three touchdowns.
The two players were arrested on charges relating to a campus brawl that occurred Nov. 12. They were booked at the jail at 12:38 p.m. and released on $500 bail at 12:52.
The fight occurred outside FSU's Oglesby Student Union during a popular midweek flea market.
A woman was hit in the head with a chair during the scuffle and required treatment at a local hospital.
After the fight, dozens of students gave statements to police, but many of their stories conflicted, investigators said.
Davis To Start At QB For BC
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. Dominique Davis, who is from Lakeland Kathleen High, came off the bench after senior Chris Crane broke his collarbone and led Boston College to a 24-21 comeback victory against Wake Forest last week. Saturday, the redshirt freshman will get his first start against Maryland.
"He did have a shaky start, but at the end of the game, [he put] us in position to win the game," BC coach Jeff Jagodzinski said. "So that says a lot about what's inside the kid."
