PALMETTO - Police are looking for two men who shot and killed a man walking a bicycle Wednesday night.
The crime occurred at about 8:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Ninth Street West.
Witnesses told police the attackers were two black males, possibly in their 20s and wearing dark clothes. They were standing next to a boxy-looking, white, four-door car when they shot the man once. A witness went to the victim's aid and tried to give medical attention, but to no avail.
The attackers' car was last seen driving east on Eighth Street West. The motive might have been robbery, police said.
The victim, a Hispanic in his 30s with black hair and black mustache, had no identification and may have been traveling alone, according to Palmetto police. He was about 5-foot-9-inches tall, and about 185 pounds.
Police are working with local businesses obtain any video of the crime scene that could identify the robbers. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward.
