Hulk Hogan Goes Unrestrained

Published: November 27, 2008

CLEARWATER - Last week, Linda Bollea's boyfriend asked a judge for a restraining order against her estranged husband, Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea. The judge denied it.

The boyfriend, Charley Hill, said Hogan stared at him at a traffic light one day this month and on the next day tailed him as he drove home, according to a copy of his petition, filed Nov. 20.

Hill feared that Hogan would attempt to "kill or injure" him because Hill is dating Linda Bollea, his petition states. He also said in the petition that Hogan has a gun.

Hill wanted a judge to prohibit Hogan from approaching his home at 861 Lantana Ave. and his various places of employment, including a pool service where he works as a swimming pool technician, according to the petition.

County Judge Michael Andrews denied the petition the same day it was filed. Andrews noted there had to be two acts of repeated violence within six months - such as assault, battery, sexual battery or stalking. Simply thinking one is about to become a victim is not sufficient for a restraining order to be issued, Andrews wrote.

The sheriff's office and several federal agencies started investigating a theft and drug ring in 2007 that they say was led by Carden and Terry "Ox" Gilmore.

Carden was arrested in Osceola County on Jan. 23 on a Polk County warrant. Gilmore was arrested Feb. 8.
