The Greater St. Petersburg Area Awesome Original Second Time Arounders Marching Band brought some Florida sunshine to New York City today in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The roughly 500-member band played a two-and-a-half-minute performance of "Let the Sun Shine In." It was the band's first appearance at the annual parade. They were one of only 10 marching bands invited by parade officials this year.
The band, formed in 1983, consists of former high school, college and military marching band members, ages 18 to 85. The members come from all across Florida and the southeastern United States to perform each year.
