Soon "Crusoe" will be a castaway on a new island - Saturday nights.
NBC decided to relocate the struggling first-year drama to make room for "Lipstick Jungle," which reportedly was canceled but is getting one more shot at finding an audience.
"Crusoe," a light-hearted action drama based on the Daniel Defoe classic, is a British production that has not pulled in lots of viewers.
Starting Dec. 5, the Brooke Shields series "Lipstick Jungle" will move to 9 p.m. on Friday nights, the third time slot of the season for the low-rated series.
From that point, "Lipstick Jungle," will air its remaining episodes on Fridays at 9 p.m., running until early January. Episodes of "Dateline NBC" will air at 10 p.m. on Fridays.
"Crusoe" moves to Saturdays at 8 p.m. starting Dec. 6.
Moving to Saturday could be the kiss of death for "Crusoe."
"FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS": NBC also announced that "Friday Night Lights" will make its season debut on the network in January, along with the new reality shows "Superstars of Dance" and Howie Mandel's "Howie Do It."
"Friday Night Lights" has been airing on DirecTV, which helped fund the current season. It debuts on NBC on Jan. 16.
"Superstars of Dance," an international competition show from the producers of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," will premiere Jan. 4 before moving to its regular Monday time slot the next night and airing through Jan. 26.
It will be paired on Monday with "Momma's Boys," a dating show from executive producer Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol."
"Howie Do It," a hidden-camera prank show starring Mandel while his "Deal or No Deal" takes a break, will debut Jan. 9.
CW CHANGES: The CW network's revamped Sunday night begins this Sunday with reruns of series including "Jericho" and "Everybody Hates Chris."
The network dropped a deal with independent studio Media Rights Capital, which had bought Sunday night time to air two dramas, "Valentine" and "Easy Money." Neither series could get a rating.
The revamped CW lineup also includes repeats of "The Game" and "The Drew Carey Show" and films from the MGM library, including "The Cutting Edge," "Revenge of the Pink Panther," "Spaceballs" and "Carrie."
