PORT RICHEY - Florida Skating Academy will present its 11th annual Holiday Roller Skating Show Extravaganza on Dec. 7. The matinee performance will feature national and world champions, 2008 national medalists, and several group numbers by the academy members from children to seniors performing to popular Broadway show tunes.
The 90-minute show will be held at Spinnations Skating Center, 8345 Congress St.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. for those who purchased advance tickets. The show will begin at 2 p.m.
Only 525 tickets are available because seating is limited and it is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance. The show has sold out in each of the past four years. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and younger. If seating is available the day of the show, tickets will be $12 for adults and $10 for children. Those tickets will be sold just prior to the show starting time. Seating is on a first-come basis. Advance tickets are available at Spinnations Skating Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The last day to purchase advance tickets is Dec. 4.

Highlighting the entertainment will be Florida Skating Academy's teaching professionals Adam White and Melissa Quinn, who are two-time world dance champions and five-time national champions. The couple traveled throughout the world performing until retiring in 2003 and settling in Pasco County.
Also in the show lineup will be U.S. World Team senior pairs skaters Siobhan Boismier of New Port Richey and Eric Hadley of Melbourne. The duo won silver medals at the 2008 National Championships in July and are in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, competing at the Senior World Championships. The 2008 National Junior World Class Champion John Burchfield of the Reflections Club, Kissimmee, and also competing at the Junior World Championships in Taiwan, will make a show appearance, along with 9-year-old U.S. Juvenile Singles Champion Alex Hinderscheid of Tampa.
Several other skaters also will be featured, along with music including numbers from James Bond, "Schindler's List," "Austin Powers," and "The Wizard of Oz."
