ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands - Natasha Vital poured in 22 points and Lauren Greif added 15 points as No. 3 California rolled past South Florida 85-55 during the first day of the Paradise Jam tournament.
Jazmine Sepulveda led South Florida (4-1) with 11 points, while Shantia Grace chipped in with 10 points. Porche Grant led the Bulls with nine rebounds.
The Bulls managed to hit just four of 19 from beyond the 3-point arc as the Bears took a 42-24 lead into halftime. USF was 20 of 70 from the field for 28.6 percent. USF faces Iowa today at 6 p.m.

Rachel Allison scored 18 points to help No. 6 Baylor beat Central Florida in the Paradise Jam.
Danielle Wilson added 12 points and Jhasmin Player had 11 for the Bears (5-0).
Leading 24-20 with 6:54 left in the first half, Baylor went on a 20-7 run capped by Allison's 3-point play a minute into the second half that gave the Bears a 44-27 advantage.
Central Florida would cut the deficit to 10 before Baylor put the game away with an 11-1 spurt.
Emma Cannon scored 17 points and Angelica Mealing added 15 for Central Florida (1-3), which committed 22 turnovers.
Baylor will play Villanova today.

CANCUN, Mexico - Mickel Picco scored 23 points and Boston College started the game with a 20-0 run to beat No. 22 TCU in the Caribbean Challenge.
Stephanie Murphy added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (4-1).
Rachel Rentschler scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Horned Frogs (5-1). Helena Sverrisdottir and TK LaFleur each added 15 points.
TCU will play Eastern Michigan and Boston College will face James Madison today.

CANCUN, Mexico - Kristi Toliver scored 13 points to help No. 10 Maryland beat Montana in the Caribbean Challenge.
Marissa Coleman added 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Terrapins (5-1).
Mandy Morales scored 15 points to lead Montana (3-1). Lady Grizzlies coach Robin Selving won his 700th game in the opening round of the tournament Wednesday when Montana beat Illinois 59-57 on Morales' jumper with 0.7 seconds left in overtime. Selving, who is 700-199 in 31 seasons at Montana, became the ninth Division I coach to reach the milestone.
The Terps will finish off their trip with a game against Illinois today. Montana will play South Dakota State.
