Two people on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle were killed this afternoon when a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle, traveling the wrong direction, hit them head-on, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Ronald L. Wright, 56 and his passenger, Robyn Marie Wright, 51, both of LaBelle, were traveling north on northbound State Road 29 in Hendry County at 3:35 p.m. when the SUV, driven by Maximino Gomez Cortez, 25, also of La Belle, was traveling southbound in the same lane, according to an FHP media release.
The front of the motorcycle collided into the front of the SUV, and the bike's passengers went flying off and were killed, according to the release.
The highway patrol is investigating.
