She was supposed to have hosted a Thanksgiving celebration for out-of-state relatives.
Instead, Belleair police found her body on Friday.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the woman's relatives arrived in Belleair on Thursday but couldn't find the woman or her husband at their home. On Friday morning, they persuaded a caretaker for the rental property at 7 Baybrook Place to let them inside, where they found the body.
Investigators have not released the woman's name because they have not yet been able to reach her husband to notify him of her death.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Office Robbery/Homicide Unit say the cause of death is still undetermined but are classifying the death as "suspicious."
Woman Arrested In Machete Threat
A Tampa woman traded a carving knife for a machete in a Thanksgiving Day fight with her brother, Hillsborough sheriff's detectives said.
Annette Jenkins, 46, of 401 E. Columbus Drive, apparently became irate when her brother invited a woman to the residence they share, according to a report.
Shortly before 10 a.m., armed with the machete, she shouted, "Patty, if you don't get out I'll kill you," and started moving toward the victim, according to the report.
Deputies arrested Jenkins and charged her with aggravated assault. She was released from the Orient Road Jail on Friday on $2,000 bail.
