Bradenton Man Accused Of Attack On Ice Cream Man

A 20-year-old Bradenton man was arrested after he assaulted and attempted to rob a 58-year-old ice cream man, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported this morning.

The assault reportedly happened at about 8 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of Fifth Street East. Deputies say Eric Grimaldo approached the victim and demanded his money.

When the victim refused, Grimaldo allegedly grabbed at his shirt pocket where he keeps money. The victim was able to hang on to his money, and Grimaldo reportedly punched him in the face and head, causing minor cuts and redness.

Grimaldo fled the scene, but was arrested later at a home in the area, a report stated. The ice cream man did not have any serious injuries.
